The Fool on the Hill…Sees the World Spinning ‘Round

The Major Arcana are the 22 cards in every Tarot deck that represent the archetypes we encounter in the cyclical nature of life. Numbered 0 to 21, the journey begins with The Fool, and ends with The World. We all begin as The Fool, the innocent, the curious one, the baby bird making that first flight out of the nest. In our journey through life we encounter many characters, situations, and choices that shape us, and hopefully we grow and change to become these other archetypes for a time. There is no linear life plan, but the journey of the Major Arcana shows a path in no particular order.

When we encounter multiple Major Arcana cards in a reading, we can expect life lessons and destiny at work. A reading that is purposefully pulled from only Major Arcana cards (Signpost, Fool’s Journey) can help us hold a mirror up to the archetypes within us, and re-center ourselves to the messages at hand.
